An opportunity has become available at Gold One Group for the position of Sweeper Underground (Grading NG). This role is suited to physically fit and safety-conscious individuals who are prepared to work in underground mining conditions and contribute to maintaining clean and safe production areas. The successful candidate will form part of the underground production support team and play an important role in ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

The primary responsibility of this role is to work a rotation of shifts underground, assisting various production teams with sweeping of ore and mud reclamation. You will be required to remain vigilant at all times, identifying and reporting any unsafe conditions, materials, or equipment to ensure company standards and procedures are strictly adhered to. All tasks must be carried out according to required specifications and instructions, while maintaining full compliance with MHSA standards and Gold One Group Limited’s safety requirements.

The minimum qualification requirement for this position is Grade 10, Grade 11, or an equivalent ABET Level qualification. Applicants must reside within the Ekurhuleni Region. South African citizenship is mandatory, along with a clear criminal record. Candidates must be medically fit and will be required to undergo assessment and clearance by the Occupational Health Centre. Proficiency in English is essential, and the ability to communicate in any of the other 11 official South African languages will be advantageous.

Candidates must not suffer from claustrophobia, as the role requires working in confined underground spaces. The ability to adapt to change within a dynamic and fast-paced mining environment is important. Applicants should be deadline-driven, capable of working under pressure, and willing to work underground on a rotational shift basis. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to ensure effective reporting and teamwork.
