The company is seeking a Blaster’s Assistant to support blasting operations while ensuring strict compliance with safety and operational standards. The successful candidate will participate actively in training sessions and continuously seek clarification on operational procedures to ensure competence and compliance. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of operational processes is essential, and the incumbent will be required to apply correct procedures consistently while addressing concerns as they arise. The role includes identifying process gaps and proposing improvements to the line manager, supported by relevant information to enhance operational efficiency. A key responsibility involves loading and unloading the Mobile Manufacturing Unit (MMU) safely and accurately by securing the loading area, verifying material specifications, and inspecting the unit to confirm proper functionality. The use of appropriate tools and equipment, monitoring material quantities, and following established safety procedures are critical components of the role.
In addition to technical duties, the Blaster’s Assistant must maintain effective stakeholder relationships by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, exchanging feedback, and collaborating to ensure smooth operations. The role requires managing relationships with service providers by tracking service levels, monitoring performance against standards, identifying concerns, and applying corrective actions when necessary. Team contribution is essential, with active participation in team activities, identifying support needs, and assisting colleagues to achieve collective goals. The incumbent is also expected to pursue self-development by identifying growth areas, seeking training opportunities, obtaining necessary approvals, and successfully completing development initiatives. Participation in company events, supporting corporate initiatives, and consistently embodying Enaex values form part of contributing to the broader organisation.
The qualification requirements for this position include a Matric / Grade 12 certificate or equivalent and a valid Blaster’s Assistant Certificate. A valid driver’s licence is mandatory. A Blasting Certificate will be advantageous and may support career progression within the organisation.
