The minimum requirements for this position include a Matric certificate along with a BCom degree in Human Resources or BCom Honours in Industrial Psychology. A Skills Facilitation (SDF) qualification will be advantageous. Candidates must be computer literate, particularly in MS Office, and possess strong communication skills. This 12-month internship, based in Johannesburg (Kempton Park), offers valuable exposure to a wide range of HR functions. The successful candidate will be involved in onboarding and offboarding processes, including screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and ensuring compliance with recruitment procedures. You will assist in preparing onboarding packs, maintaining employee records, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. The role also includes coordinating onboarding experiences to ensure new employees feel welcomed and supported from day one.
In addition, you will support skills development initiatives by coordinating training programmes, maintaining training records, and assisting with reporting. This includes compiling Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR), liaising with training providers, and ensuring all learning activities are properly documented. You will also contribute to HR reporting, audits, and compliance processes, including BBBEE-related documentation.
The role further involves assisting with employee engagement initiatives, organising events, and supporting corporate social investment (CSI) projects. You will help ensure smooth HR operations by maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and assisting with administrative duties across the HR department.
