Applicants must have Grade 12 or equivalent and must currently be unemployed. Candidates must be available on short notice, as this role is based on operational requirements with no guaranteed hours or fixed schedule. A valid Code 10 (C1) driver’s licence with PrDP or higher will be a major advantage. Previous experience in warehousing, stock handling, or the FMCG industry will be beneficial.
This is a temporary, non-continuous role that does not lead to permanent employment. Successful candidates will be hired for specific periods or projects as required and will only be paid for actual hours worked. The position is suited to individuals who are flexible and ready to assist whenever operational needs arise.
Duties may include packing and handling stock, assisting drivers with delivery paperwork, and loading and offloading trucks. The role requires physical fitness, as it involves heavy lifting of bags weighing up to 40kg. General cleaning and maintenance of the warehouse and surrounding work areas also form part of the responsibilities to ensure a safe and organised environment.
Casual General Workers may also be required to accompany drivers on delivery routes, including travel to distant locations when necessary. The ability to work under pressure, demonstrate dedication to assigned tasks, and maintain a strong work ethic is essential.
