An opportunity has become available at BCE for a Warehouse Assistant (Late Shift) based at the company’s warehouse in the West Rand. This role is suited to a dependable and hardworking individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced distribution environment and able to commit to late shift hours. Applicants must reside in the West Rand or Soweto and be prepared to work scheduled late shifts as required.
The primary purpose of this position is to perform various operational tasks within the warehouse to ensure efficient stock handling, accurate order fulfilment, and smooth daily distribution processes. The successful candidate will be involved in picking, packing, and checking stock, as well as replenishing inventory to maintain adequate stock levels. General warehouse housekeeping forms part of the responsibilities to ensure a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.
The minimum requirement for this position is Grade 12/Matric or an equivalent qualification. Previous warehouse and distribution experience is essential, as well as experience working late shifts or rotational shifts. A forklift certification will be highly beneficial. Computer literacy is advantageous, particularly for stock control or system-based tasks.
In this role, you will also be responsible for loading and unloading products, handling delicate and fragile items with care, and assisting with receiving stock while verifying quantities and correctness. Preparing products for shipment or delivery will form part of your daily duties, along with assisting with deliveries and collections to and from customers when required. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical to ensure that orders are processed correctly and customer expectations are met.
The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining individual accountability for assigned tasks. A good command of the English language, strong communication skills, and excellent mathematical and literacy skills are essential. Strong time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure will contribute to success in this role.
