VKB Group is looking for a Loader / Logistics Assistant to join its operations team and support efficient loading, unloading, and merchandise handling processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for drawing merchandise from the stockroom as requested, marking products accurately, and bringing merchandise onto the floor for packing onto shelves. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that goods are handled safely, distributed correctly, and prepared for dispatch in line with company standards.

The minimum requirements for this position include Grade 12 or NQF Level 4. Experience in agricultural retail will serve as a recommendation. Candidates must have at least 1 – 3 years’ experience in transport, warehousing, or logistics operations. Applicants must be physically fit and capable of managing heavy-duty tasks. Knowledge of load planning, weight distribution, and safety regulations is essential. The successful candidate must be willing to work weekends and public holidays as per the roster and must have a clear criminal record.

The Loader / Logistics Assistant will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo and goods to ensure operational efficiency. This includes ensuring that weight distribution and securing of loads comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. The role also requires inspecting cargo and related documentation for accuracy before dispatch to prevent errors and delays. Close coordination with drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff is necessary to ensure smooth workflow and timely deliveries.

In addition, the successful candidate will maintain accurate records of loads, movements, and reconciliations while monitoring and reporting any deviations, damages, or incidents during loading and unloading activities. Attention to detail is essential to ensure that all stock movements are properly recorded and that discrepancies are addressed promptly. The role requires a strong commitment to upholding company values and maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
