Sun International is looking for candidates for the National Certificate in Gaming Operations Learnership Programme.

Applicants must have a Matric certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification, a valid South African ID, and must have passed English. Candidates must be able to work shifts according to operational requirements and be comfortable working in both smoking and non-smoking environments. Applicants must meet the requirements for a gaming license and the appointment will be subject to KwaZulu-Natal Gaming Board licensing. Strong interpersonal skills, a well-presented and professional appearance, self-motivation, initiative, and emotional resilience are essential. Candidates must be physically able to stand for long periods, move machines when required, and handle tools applicable to the role.

The National Certificate in Gaming Operations Learnership Programme is designed to provide unemployed individuals with an accredited qualification in Gaming Operations at NQF Level 4. The programme runs for a period of 12 months, during which learners will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical workplace exposure within the gaming industry. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised qualification, improving their employability within the sector.

Duties during the learnership include checking work areas to ensure equipment is functioning and ready for service, maintaining cleanliness within assigned sections, and reporting any equipment faults or defects for correction. Learners will be required to engage with guests by providing a warm welcome, greeting them professionally, and ensuring respectful interactions at all times.

Additional responsibilities include clearing slot machines on designated count days, conducting daily counts, capturing data into the system accurately, and reporting any suspicious transactions in line with compliance and regulatory standards. Attention to detail, listening skills, and adherence to operational procedures are critical in maintaining integrity and customer trust within the gaming environment.
