Shoprite in Western Cape is Looking For a Stock Administrator

Shoprite, Africa’s largest food retailer, is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Stock Administrator to join its Meat Market Division. This is a hands-on operational role based at the Commercial Cold Storage facility in Brackenfell and is not office-based. The successful candidate will play a critical part in ensuring accurate stock control, smooth distribution processes, and strong administrative oversight within a fast-paced cold storage environment.

In this role, you will oversee and manage the overall administrative functions of the cold storage facility. Key responsibilities include compiling stock sheet reports with average weight checks, accurately receiving stock (ensuring GRVs reflect correct cartons and weights), monitoring GRV hit rates, and managing expiry date reports. You will coordinate delivery booking slots with suppliers and the cold store, verify bulk stock drops against releases, and ensure that stock sheet cases booked out match release documentation. Additional duties include spot-checking delivery notes for correct weights and pricing, monitoring pallet utilisation and stock rotation, investigating weekly claims, managing slow-moving stock, and creating delivery notes using Excel. You will also support receiving processes by matching delivery note details to goods received vouchers, assisting creditors with documentation, controlling weekly pricing, performing stock reconciliations, and maintaining accurate weekly stock sheets.

Qualification Requirements:
Applicants must have a Grade 12 certificate (relevant additional courses will be advantageous). A minimum of five years’ experience in stock administration is essential, including experience with Microsoft Office and Excel, distribution of virtual stock, preparing stock orders for dispatch, receiving administration, and quality control to ensure order accuracy.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical ability, excellent attention to detail, and accuracy with figures. Advanced Excel skills are highly desirable, and SAP knowledge would be advantageous. You should possess good communication skills, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment. Experience balancing stock, conducting reconciliations, and managing high-volume inventory operations will be key to success in this position.

This opportunity at Shoprite offers the chance to work within a leading retail organisation where operational excellence, accuracy, and efficiency are highly valued. If you are a driven and experienced stock administrator ready to contribute to a high-performance distribution environment, this role could be your next career move. Apply today and become part of Shoprite’s dynamic supply chain team.
