Applicants must have Matric and a minimum of 3 years’ cleaning experience in a warehouse, industrial, or commercial environment. Candidates must have a basic understanding of health and safety practices and be physically fit to perform manual tasks. Reliability, punctuality, safety awareness, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential requirements for this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic warehouse environment in line with company health, safety, and operational standards. Daily duties include cleaning warehouse floors, walkways, desks, restroom facilities, and common areas. This involves sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and removing dust, debris, and waste from designated areas to ensure a tidy and hazard-free workspace.
The role also requires emptying bins and ensuring that waste is disposed of according to company procedures. Maintaining cleanliness around loading bays, storage areas, and entrances is critical to support safe movement of goods and staff. The Warehouse Cleaner will also keep kitchen and bathroom areas neat, wash and replace hand towels, and refill soap and toilet paper as needed.
Candidates must ensure that cleaning equipment and materials are used safely, handled with care, and stored correctly after use. Any maintenance issues, spillages, hazards, or equipment breakages must be reported immediately to the supervisor. The role includes monitoring cleaning supply levels and notifying the line manager when stock is low.
Strict adherence to all health and safety policies is required at all times. The ideal candidate must be responsible, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high housekeeping standards within the warehouse environment.
