BUCO in Kimberly, Northern Cape is Looking For a General Assistant

BUCO (The Building Company) is looking for a General Assistant to join its team and support daily operational activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing customers with their orders accurately and efficiently while ensuring a high level of service at all times. This role requires hands-on involvement in the yard and warehouse environment, assisting with loading and offloading vehicles, packing yard stock items, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The General Assistant will also help ensure that company vehicles are kept clean and in good condition, and that wash bay activities are completed according to company standards.

The minimum qualification requirement for this position is Grade 12. Candidates must also have product knowledge relevant to BUCO’s range of building materials and related products. A good understanding of stock handling procedures, safety standards, and basic customer service principles will be advantageous. The ability to quickly learn about new products and effectively guide customers and suppliers is essential for success in this role.

The General Assistant will play an important role in assisting both customers and suppliers on site. This includes guiding customers to the correct products, helping with queries, and ensuring that goods are loaded safely and correctly. The candidate must be physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, packing, and organizing stock. Attention to detail is important to ensure that orders are prepared accurately and that yard stock is packed and stored properly.

In addition to operational duties, the role involves maintaining cleanliness in work areas and safeguarding company vehicles. Completing wash bay activities forms part of the daily responsibilities, ensuring vehicles remain presentable and operational.
