Within South Africa’s fast-moving consumer goods sector, operational efficiency and product quality are critical to meeting daily customer demand. Premier is currently seeking a Loader for its Fort Jackson Bakery division. Reporting to the Dispatch Supervisor, this role focuses on the accurate loading and offloading of bread while ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures. This is a six-day position suited to a dependable and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a structured production and dispatch environment.
The primary responsibility of the Loader is to offload and load bread in accordance with established loading and offloading standard operating procedures (SOPs). The successful candidate will be required to follow the pipeline loading and offloading sequence to ensure operational efficiency and prevent delays. Tray counting and balancing trays within delivery trucks is a key function of the role, requiring strong numerical skills and attention to detail to prevent stock discrepancies. The incumbent must attend daily invocoms (inventory communication meetings) to remain aligned with operational targets and updates.
Maintaining product quality is essential. The Loader must ensure that only quality bread is loaded and offloaded, preventing damaged or non-compliant products from reaching customers. Adherence to correct stock rotation practices, particularly FIFO (First-In, First-Out), is required to maintain freshness and reduce waste. The role also involves reporting loading and offloading matters to the offloads supervisors, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. Strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures is mandatory to support an efficient and safe working environment.
The qualification requirements for this position include a Grade 12 certificate with numerical skills. Candidates should have at least three months of experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry. Understanding organisational processes, business rules, and procedures will support effective performance in this position.
