At NECSA, operational excellence and safety are fundamental to supporting technical training and development within a regulated environment. The organisation is seeking a Store and Workshop Support Officer to ensure that training equipment, tools, and allocated resources are maintained effectively and are readily available in line with operational schedules. This role requires a detail-oriented and responsible individual who can manage stock, maintain workshop standards, and support compliance with quality and safety systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining allocated resources, including training equipment and tools, ensuring that all items remain in good working condition and are stored appropriately. The role includes ensuring that workshop transport is maintained according to schedule, kept clean, and has sufficient fuel at all times. The incumbent must ensure that all users of workshop transport complete the necessary documentation in accordance with the Necsa Group Transportation policies and procedures. Stock control forms a significant part of the role, requiring the elimination of stock wastage by maintaining accurate measurements and counts when issuing materials to trainers and learners. Responsibilities also include receiving deliveries, issuing and controlling stock, implementing inventory processes according to prescribed schedules, and conducting regular stock-taking exercises. The position requires ensuring that adequate stock and training equipment are available in line with the training schedule to prevent operational disruptions.
Housekeeping is a critical component of the role. The Store and Workshop Support Officer must ensure that the store area remains clean and neat at all times. All used and returned tools must be cleaned and stored correctly, and equipment must be handled safely and stored appropriately. Where required, the incumbent may act as the workshop driver to deliver documents to identified stakeholders. Strict adherence to safety protocols when handling tools and equipment is mandatory. In addition, the role requires compliance with all applicable Quality Management Systems (QMS) within the store and adherence to Behavioural Safety requirements.
The qualification requirements for this position include a Grade 12 or N3 certificate and a minimum of two years’ relevant working experience. A valid driver’s licence is essential. Key knowledge and skills include reading and writing proficiency, good communication skills preferably in English, and computer literacy. A technical background and completion of a Storeman Course will be advantageous. Competencies required for the role include creativity, problem-solving ability, organisational and mental alertness, adaptability, effective time and stress management, customer orientation, and strong teamwork skills.
