The incumbent will supervise and manage technical staff, artisans, operators, and general workers, ensuring productivity, adherence to safety standards, and proper task execution. Ensuring the correct and responsible use of equipment, materials, and fleet resources forms part of effective operational oversight. The supervisor will investigate and respond promptly to water leaks, pipe bursts, blockages, and service interruptions to restore services efficiently. Accurate operational and maintenance records must be maintained, and the preparation of reports, incident documentation, and resource requirement submissions will support management decision-making. The role further requires liaising with contractors, consultants, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate projects and resolve infrastructure-related matters.

The qualification requirements for this position include a Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a National Diploma or Trade Qualification in Civil Engineering, Water Care, Plumbing, or a related field. Candidates must have between three and five years of experience in water and sanitation operations, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity. A sound understanding of water treatment processes and sanitation systems is essential to ensure regulatory compliance and operational effectiveness. A valid driver’s licence is also required.
