The minimum requirements for this position include a Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification, and candidates must be currently unemployed and residing in Gauteng to ensure availability on short notice. Previous experience in warehousing, stock handling, or the FMCG industry will be advantageous. This role is a temporary, non-permanent opportunity designed for individuals who are flexible and ready to work when needed. As a Casual General Worker, you will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of warehouse and operational duties depending on business requirements. These duties include loading and unloading goods and pallets, packing and sorting stock, and handling heavy lifting tasks such as carrying dog food bags weighing up to 40kg. You will also assist in the production process, ensuring smooth workflow and efficiency in daily operations.
In addition to warehouse responsibilities, you will be expected to maintain cleanliness and order within the work environment. This includes general cleaning, tidying up, and ensuring that safety standards are always maintained. You may also support drivers by helping with loading and offloading deliveries, completing delivery paperwork, and occasionally accompanying them on delivery routes, which may involve long-distance travel.
It is important to note that this is not a permanent position and does not guarantee fixed working hours. Employees will only be called in when required and will be paid based on the actual hours worked.
