Newmark Hotels in Limpopo is Looking For a Housekeeping Manager

Within the luxury hospitality portfolio of Newmark Hotels, excellence in guest experience is a defining standard, and Motswari Private Game Reserve stands as a premier safari destination known for refined comfort and immersive wilderness encounters. The reserve is currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping department and ensure exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction aligned with its luxury safari offering. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards that discerning local and international guests expect when visiting a private game reserve environment.

The Housekeeping Manager will take full responsibility for overseeing all housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The successful candidate will lead, train, motivate, and, where necessary, discipline housekeeping staff to ensure consistent service excellence. Daily room inspections prior to guest arrivals are critical to guarantee that each suite reflects the lodge’s premium standards. The role also includes managing linen, laundry processes, guest amenities, and housekeeping stock control to ensure operational efficiency without compromising quality. Close coordination with Front Office and Maintenance departments is essential to ensure rooms are ready on time and that maintenance concerns are addressed promptly. The incumbent will also develop structured cleaning schedules and deep-cleaning plans while ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times. Managing guest feedback professionally and resolving housekeeping-related concerns swiftly forms a key part of maintaining the lodge’s luxury reputation.

To qualify for this position, candidates must have a minimum of three to five years’ experience in a housekeeping supervisory or managerial role, preferably within a hospitality or lodge environment. Strong leadership and people-management skills are essential, along with excellent attention to detail and organisational ability. Applicants must be able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards. Good verbal and written communication skills are required, as the role involves regular interaction with guests and internal departments. A solid understanding of hygiene protocols, cleaning standards, and stock control procedures is necessary. Candidates must also be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, in line with hospitality industry demands.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a lodge or safari environment and an understanding of luxury guest expectations. Basic computer literacy, including the ability to manage emails, compile reports, and maintain stock sheets, will support administrative efficiency within the department.

This position requires a proactive leader who leads by example and fosters a culture of pride, accountability, and teamwork. The Housekeeping Manager will oversee staff rosters, leave planning, and performance monitoring to ensure adequate coverage and optimal productivity. By maintaining meticulous standards and supporting staff development, the successful candidate will directly contribute to the lodge’s reputation for excellence.

For a hospitality professional passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences within a unique safari setting, this opportunity at Newmak Hotels offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while upholding the refined standards of a luxury private game reserve.
